Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Istanbul

Welcome to Istanbul! Your personal Agent will meet you at the Airport and you will get the tour documents and briefing about your tour. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 2Istanbul Old City

After having breakfast at hotel, you will have a full day tour of the only city to span two continents, visiting the Blue Mosque, St Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome. After the tour you will be transferred to your Hotel. You can ask to your agent to have a reservation at one of the Dinner Restaurants or Night Clubs. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 3Half Day Bosporus Cruise

After having breakfast at hotel, you’ll be picked-up at your hotel and proceed to the embarkation point of your Bosphorus cruise. The cruise offers you wonderful views of Istanbul’s European and Asian sides, who shores are lined with marble palaces, centuries-old wooden villas constructed in the Ottoman style, luxurious apartment houses and other residences. You will also see Rumeli Fortress, a fortification built to control entry to the Bosphorus Strait and protect Istanbul. At the end of the cruise , you will be driven Dolmabahce Palace and Afternoon Suleymaniye Mosque and Spice (Egyptian) Market. Overnight Istanbul.

Day 4Gallipoli Battlefields

After having breakfast at hotel, depart for Gallipoli, the site of many battles during WWI. Visit Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Cemetery and Chunuk Bair, then cross the Dardanelles to Canakkale for overnight.

Day 5Troy, Acropolis and Asclepion of Pergamum

After having breakfast at hotel, Visit Troy with its famous wooden horse, best known for being the setting of the Trojan War and many cities built on top of each other. Before arriving into Acropol, enjoy lunch with locals in a traditional local village. Then continue to Pergamum to visit the ancient Medical Center in Asclepion and continue to Kusadasi for overnight.

Day 6Ephesus, St. Mary’s House

After having breakfast at hotel, To ur the famous ruins of Ephesus, an important cultural center of the ancient world, and explore 2,000 year-old marble streets, a theater, the Library of Celsius, a gymnasium and Hadrian’s Temple. Take a short drive to see St. Mary’s stone cottage where it is believed Virgin Mary spent her last years accompanied by St. John. Continue to a regional rug production center to have a firsthand experience of this unique art form. Overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 7Hierapolis, Pamukkale

After having breakfast at hotel, Drive through lush valleys to Pamukkale, the Cotton Fortress, with white lime cascades formed by hot mineral springs. Visit ruins of the Roman health spa of Hierapolis and enjoy a swim in your hotel’s thermal pool. Overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 8Antalya

After having breakfast at hotel, Afterwards we drive to the resort town of Antalya. Here we will take a walking tour of the old town area of Antalya known as “Kaleiçi”. Amongst other things we’ll visit Hadrian’s Gate, the Ancient Harbour and Suna-Inan Kiraç Kaleiçi Museum which even has a Greek Orthdox Church in its garden! Overnight in Antalya.

Day 9Konya, Cappadocia

Early departure for Konya and the mausoleum of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi with its accompanying museum. Overnight Cappadocia.

Day 10Cappadocia

Your first encounter with Cappadocia’s almost Martian landscape is in the Dervent Valley, where you’ll see Pasabag’s “Fairy Chimneys”. Here it is said that “the voice of the wind harmonizes with the songs of the fairies”. Moving on, you’ll enjoy a visit to the Avanos Center of Terracotta Art, followed by lunch. After lunch, you visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum to see the best examples of Byzantine art in the region, followed by a visit to the Uchisar Rock Castle, where you’ll have a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding valleys. Your tour ends with a visit a carpet cooperative to see how beautiful Turkish carpets are hand-woven. Overnight in Cappadocia.

OPTION: This evening, you can enjoy an optional Turkish belly and folk dancing show at a popular “cave restaurant”.

Day 11Cappadocia, Ankara

After breakfast, you’re off to the “Red Valley” to explore its famous rock- cut churches. Continue on 2 km hike through the Gulludere Valley to visit the ancient village of Cavusin. Abandoned several decades ago, Cavusin has two important churches: the Great Basilica dedicated to St. John the Baptist (located on a cliff above the village) and the Cavusin Church or the “Great Pigeon House” built to commemorate a visit by the Cappadocian Emperor Nicephorus Phocas. After lunch, you motor to “Pigeon Valley” and visit the fascinating “underground city” of Kaymakli, where early Christians lived in fear and faith. The houses here are built around the settlement’s nearly 100 tunnels, and are still in use today as storage areas, stables, and cellars. Afterwards we drive to the to the nation’s capital, Ankara, where we visit Anitkabir, mausoleum of the famed Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, On the way we will give a stop near the Salt Lake. Overnight in Ankara.

Day 12

After having breakfast at hotel, drive to Istanbul. End of the services.
